Thread: Application Errors

  1. #1

    Default Application Errors

Help!! Trying to get the software working on my laptop. Have tested the
equipment on a different system, and worked fine. I get this error:

    Common Language Runtime Debugger Services

Application has generated an error that could not be handled:

    Process ID: 0x450 (1104), Thread ID=0xff8 (4088)

Click on Ok to Terminate the Application

    Cancel to Debug

This is running on an Acer Travelmate C200 Tablet

    Windows XP SP2

.Net Framework 1.1 (tried reinstalling and using 2.0 as well)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

This is exactly the same error I get on my Acer C200 Tablet! I've reinstalled mine with a clean XP Tablet PC installation to see if it was some junk that Acer included thar was causing this but I still get the same error message. I?m getting really tired of this piece of crap now, and I?m not refering to the computer... :x

Looks like more than 1 person is having issues with your software. I
have not receieved any type of help at all from Metageek about this
    issue. Is anyone listening?

If it will help any, here is the debug output for the issue. I have also tried the following:

Uninstalled and unregistered .NET framework, per the MSKB article

    removed the versions completely.

If there is someone from Metageek out there, please respond, even with
a private post. I will be more than happy to help troubleshoot, but no
support at all is going to have me send this thing back, and won't be
    purchasing anymore of them!

I?m using my Acer Tablet for Site Surveying with AirMagnet. The only use I would have for Wi-Spy is for detecting RF-interference during these surveys, that?s why I ordered it. That doesn?t work now wich means that I?ve wasted my money on this product so far... :x

Default I have sent multiple emails

I have sent multiple emails to the only email address listed on the
site, and have not received any reply. I don't see any other support
options for this tool, which makes the frustration even worse. I will
keep trying to see if I can get help, but I am not hopeful.

Default Sorry that I was not

Sorry that I was not checking the forum. I just received an email
concerning this issue and will look into it today. I suspect that Acer
(or Microsoft) may have made changes to the standard USB Human
    Interface Device driver.

There is a beta release of the new software for Wi-Spy called Chanalyzer located at http://www.metageek.net/chanalyzer/

Chanalyzer is built on .Net 2.0 instead of .Net 1.1 like the previous
software, so it may work better. I will see about getting Tablet PC
installed using Virtual PC to try to debug the issue on my Acer
    TravelMate laptop (not a tablet).

Tried the "Chanalyzer", didn?t work either. Please come up with a
solution soon or els give me a full refund. You?ll have it back in mint
condition if only you provide packaging and postage.

Any progress yet? This is really frustrating. Win XP Tablet PC edition
is often used for WiFi site surveying for obvious reasons. The digital
EMR-pen and touchscreen makes it easy to mark out measurement points in
AirMagnet Surveyor or similar apps such as VisiWave or Ekahau. We need
    this to work!
