Unhappy Gentleman, I need some help (Wireless connections).

Gentlemen, I'm an F.N.G. here. I never have used inSSIDer before. I'd like to kill a doubt.
Does inSSIDer manage wireless networks? I mean... I'm using it here, and it found wireless networks, but couldn't connect. Is it possible?
Sorry if I'm using the wrong application for this task.
If anyone you can help me to find another way to connect via software... I'd be glad.

    Let me explain my situation:

I am working on a laptop that's giving me too much trouble. It's a Philco PHN 14118. Its WLan adapter is an RTL8187SE (I didn't find any utility for this adapter, even at realtek website). I'm searching for some software that can detect & connect by itself.
So... that's how I got here. I'm working on it for 5 days and I didn't succeed.

Thanks to everyone who can help me.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

inSSIDer will not connect and manage access points, it will simply measure their signal strengths.

And...Is there some program that can do this?
If so, could you post It here?
    I'd be glad...
    Thank you, Trent!
