    Cool inSSIDer 2.0 Preview

inSSIDer 2.0 is coming along nicely (huge shout out to Tyler for his work on this) and should be ready for beta in early September.

    New features:
    Better parsing of .11n information
    Channel view shows bonded channels
New layout (similar to Chanalyzer 4 and Chanalyzer Pro layouts)
Ability to filter table and views by security, amplitude, data rate, etc.

    Here are a couple screenshots....

Kudos upon Kudos to Tyler for his work on InSSIDER 2

    Cool

    Thanks!

This version also has better screen compatibility with netbooks/small screen computers.

Default Atheros AR5009 abgn radio and Vista Ultimate buggy

I cannot get the beta version of inSSIDer to work with the Atheros AR5009 radio.

I can see the client utility but cannot get it to pick up/read any RF.

    Can you check this out.

It is running on a 64 bit Win 7 install.

I also have it running on a 32 bit version of Vista Ultimate and it locks up every once in a while.

Sort out these bugs and you will have a great product.

    Thanks.

Some observations, sorry, but this new version seems to be a backwards step. It even looks primitive (like an old 3270 mainframe screen!)

Why can't I have the "time graph" and "Channels" displayed at the same time any more.

Also why do I have to manually start the GPS every time now?

Also the program crashes every time you exit on windows 64 bit ultimate.

GPS info is missing height & Sat count fields

Satellites in the GPS tab FLASH annoyingly between a bright & a dull orange colour as if there is an error.

The RSSI field with long line & a number is no where as useful as the old strength & "lock" symbol

Also how do I move the News tab out of the way (to the last tab like in the screenshot above)

I suppose you wouldn't like the way Chanalyzer 4 looks either.

    1. The time graph and channel graph side-by-side limited us to only 2 graphs to display. However, we may add a tab for both graphs side-by-side

    2. We haven't added auto-starting of the WiFi and the GPS yet, but we are working on it.

    3. As long as you send in an error report, we can investigate the problem.

    4. Altitude seems non-critical for the at-a-glance GPS status, however satellite count could be useful.

    5. In all of our testing, this has never happened. Strange.

    6. The RSSI sparklines are not designed to replace the signal indicators.

    7. The news tab isn't in the way, it's in a tab so it is out of the way.
