Thread: Sapido Technology AU-5015 compatibility

  1. Question Sapido Technology AU-5015 compatibility

I found this 802.11 a/b/g/n dual band wireless adapter while seaching for a low cost 5 GHz for general deployment and replacment ($20) decided to try it.
After installation and successful 5 GHz connection on an Acer Travelmate notebook with a bad internal Intel wireless we installed inSSIDer on same notebook. InSSIDer would not display any wireless networks. Next day after opening inSSIDer for troubleshooting wireless networks showed up on the notebook inSSIDer. Why did they show up later but not at first? Notebook hybernation caused Sapido not to reconnect overnight and inSIDDer would not even open. The AU-5015 installs its own wireless network control and profiles. It seems to disable the Microsoft even though MS is set to enabled on Windows XPP sp3. Maybe the Sapido software is odd? One nice feature, Adapter can also act as a Access point (AP). Anyone tried this adapter? If you do try it, download drivers and install first before plugging in Sapido and all will go well.
