Thread: Interesting fcc question

    Default Interesting fcc question

Just got my DBx a few days ago, and I must say, I love it.
I ran across something interesting while reading the FCC compliance card that comes in the box. 3rd sentence says "This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy..."
    Is this true?
DBx = spectrum analyzer = passive receive only, yes?

    I'm only curious.

Thank you for the question. The DBx is indeed a spectrum analyzer and it only does passive reception. I believe the FCC license applies to the TI chip the Wi-Spy uses since it can indeed potentially transmit. However with the firmware on the Wi-Spy DBx it will not transmit anything.
