Default inSSIDER not scanning in linux

i recently installed inSSIDer for fedora using the .rpm format.
    after installing the dependencies
    - mono-web
    - webkit-sharp

i was able to run the inSSIDer (GUI)
but it is not seeing any wifi access or any SSID, i already disabled the LAN just to make sure that my primary connection is wifi.

    any help would be appreciated.

I'm not too familiar with the linux version of inSSIDer, however, look in the upper right hand corner of the GUI. Is there a start/stop button? If so, make sure your wireless card is selected and click Start.

I think the linux version was broken a while back with an update to some network manager component in most linux distros.
