    Default Chanalyzer dBm units

    I have purchase a Wi-Spy DBx w/ Chanalyzer.

After a few spectrum analysis i have a doubt:

What is the Amplitude (dBm) meaning in the Y scale of the analyzer ?

Is it the Power Level or is it the Power Spectral Density ?

Can i calculate the power level with the formula: PSD max value (dBm) + 10 log(RBW) ?

Being the RBW = 20 MHz for a 802.11 channel bandwidth analysis.

    Thank you.

I believe that this article titled "Measuring Wi-Fi Transmit Power" at least partially addresses your question.
