With the latest update, inSSIDer Office is now XP compatible. inSSIder Home will receive the same XP compatibility update soon. In the meantime, XP users will want to download inSSIDer 2 (2.1.6.1395).
Joel, That link leads to 2.1.6.1394. Could you tell us the difference between the two versions? is1395 preferable?
Both are better for techies than version 3!
Thank you -- Dan in St. Louis
After further investigation, I found that it is mislabeled. The filename seems to say 1394, but the actual version is 1395.
Thank you, Joel. That would explain it. I still wish development of version 2 had been continued. I like the presentation better than version 3 -- the thinner, SSID-labeled graphs tell me more, and the display for v2 also fits better on smaller screens (especially my netbook!).
Thanks for the feedback Dan, we really appreciate it. inSSIDer will continue to evolve and be updated.
Speaking of updates, I have some very exciting news! inSSIDer Home has been updated with Windows XP and netbook support! This isn't a feature update, but if you are on a 1024x600 screen, or if you are running Windows XP, inSSIDer Home will now run on your machine. Head over to our downloads page on our website to get it. Note that inSSIDer 2 and inSSIDer Home coexist happily on the same machine, if you want to have them both around.
Let me know if you have any questions about the update!
